Dear Neighbors & Friends: It is with a heavy heart that we announce the tragic & untimely passing of Croton-on-Hudson Trustee John Habib. John will be sorely missed for his infectious energy, mega-watt smile, passion for public service, and abiding love for his hometown. John grew up in Croton-on-Hudson and was a graduate of Holy Name of Mary and Croton Harmon High School. John earned his undergraduate degree from Colgate University and a J.D. from Emory University School of Law. During his professional career, John held several executive positions with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and American Chamber of Commerce, as well as major law firms handling commercial litigation. Before being elected as a Trustee, John served as Chair of the Business Development Committee. While in office, John spearheaded the establishment of the Croton Business Council, using his expertise from the private sector to help organize and energize the business community. John was known for always being full of ideas and never hesitating to question conventional wisdom. The Village’s notice of John’s passing is available here. Our thoughts are with John’s beloved wife, Tanya Chuck-Habib, and his extended family here in Croton and beyond. The Croton Democratic Committee |
